Thriller Opening Sequence Analysis:
Duress Opening Title:
-Glitch-like effects with the credits
-Jumpcuts between credits and disturbing shots; all relating to the movie
-Non-diegetic sound is extremely suspenseful
-Distorted voiceovers set atmosphere
A Quiet Place:
-No Diegetic or Non-diegetic sound = Eerie feeling/atmosphere
-Establishing shots showing abandonment
-No explanation as to what is happening, keeps an audience on the edge of their seat
A Thriller Scene:
-Projection of shadows leads the audience to wonder what's taking place / why she is being followed
-The dizziness after affect shows that she is distressed
-Non-diegetic sound brings suspense
-Final shot of antagonist approaching her
