Preliminary Task 1 - Props/Costumes

Sunday, 26, February For Preliminary Task 1, I have been assigned to plan out Props and Costumes. Our film will be featuring two characters, Mark Jameson, and Wither, aka 'Mr Bad Man'. Mark Jameson: Mark is the film's protagonist, a very 'light' and 'joyful' character. He is a content creator/ film maker. His character is also very oblivious to the situation that he's walking into. For this character we want to take a more 'casual', 'trendy' almost 'streetwear' approach on his costume. What he will be wearing: Hoodie: -This could vary colours, however we want to avoid darker shades, such as black or brown. -A plain T-shirt can be worn underneath. Pants: -A basic/casual pair of Chinos or Jeans, preferably not tight/too skinny. -Again want to avoid dark colours Shoes: -High-top shoes -Not too fancy, more like streetwear Camcorder: -This will be Mark's prop, as he is a content creator -Our filming camera will be used for camcor...

Preliminary Task 1 - Practice Shots

Tuesday, 23, February Today we took our first try experimenting with a range of camera shots. Shot #1: In this shot we attempted a handheld tracking shot. What we can take away from this: -The camera needs to be steady if we want a clear shot, which can be done with a dolly or rail. -Negative space needs to be considered, there should be space between the head and the top of the frame. Shot #2 In this shot we attempted a Panning Over-The-Shoulder Shot. We were actually quite proud of this shot, but it can be improved by: -We could catch more of the shoulder, in order to emphasise this type of shot. -We could work on using a steady hand for our camera shots (This applies to all of our shots). Shot #3 In this shot we attempted a zoomed-in image. We can learn a lot from our attempt at this shot: -Zooming looks amateurish if not done correctly (This was our attempt at a more amateur shot and is something that we'd like to use in our film, for the sole purpose of ge...
