China + Hollywood

Marvel:
-Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness: Banned because it contains nods to Falun Gong, a spiritual movement that Beijing has banned and labeled as a cult.
-Eternals: Banned due to the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters, and as an act of 'revenge' against director Chloe Zao
-Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: Banned due to the depiction of Chinese characters

Spider-Man: No Way Home:
-Banned because they wanted the Statue of Liberty removed from the film
-Sony sacrificed Millions of dollars in order to stand up to Chinese Censorship
-Sony is one of the only companies that have rejected China's censorship demands

James Bond: Tomorrow Never Dies:
-China demanded a rewrite of the original script, this was followed and Chinese Censorship has followed the same process for other films

Pixels:
-Made it into China after having a scene removed where Aliens blast a hole into The Great Wall

Shanghai Disneyland:
-Walt Disney Co. only owns 47% of the theme park

China's Regulations:
-They still demand that we change our films and plots to fit their narrative
-Many companies avoid making a film to avoid punishment from China
-Trying to erase images of symbols of freedom in the United States
-Indirectly dictating the freedom that Western filmmakers and the media have

The Philippines regulations:
-Manila pushed back against 'Uncharted' and 'Abominable' because of the appearance of Beijing's Nine-Dash Line; the nine dashes demarcate China's claim to about 90% of the sea
